Valve’s promised Wednesday updates of Steam on the Mac have been delayed, but Mac gamers get a bit of good news this Wednesday from the Team Fortress 2 blog, which announced that the team-based multiplayer shooter will be available for download on Steam for the Mac this Thursday.

News of Team Fortress 2’s arrival is a little bittersweet for Mac gamers, though, as it comes shortly after it became apparent that Portal 2 would be delayed until 2011. The reason? According to Valve, “making games is hard.”

Step 3. Installing TF2 Classic

Your download is a compressed .7z (7zip) file. To open the file you'll need a tool to extract it. We recommend 7-Zip.

Use your preferred compression tool to extract the files into your 'steam/steamapps/sourcemods' folder such that the tf2classic folder within thedownload is extracted within the sourcemods folder.
